Something super easy to go with afternoon tea fruit today. I had a little melted chocolate left in the tmx and didn't want to waste it. I added 600ml milk, 1 chopped banana and one tablespoon of honey. We drank some and froze some into ice blocks. Yum!
I posted my chocolate milk powder and my hot chocolate mix recently. Here is a mocha version. I dont drink coffee but my friends that do say this tastes nice. This one is in cups rather than grams as I forgot to weigh them. I used this link.
My boys love me this afternoon. After a long hot drive home from school this was just what we all needed along with some fruit salad! I'm starting to really love my tmx! It's as simple as blitzing some ice on speed 9 until crushed finely. I scoop it into cups and top with a little made up lime cordial (we have ours very weak in strength). I put enough liquid to make it easily sipped through a straw for [...]
I've run out of chocolate and cocoa but had some Nutella in the pantry and whipped up a quick milkshake for the kiddies. The 5 yr old hates banana with a passion so I always pop one in milkshakes and he barely notices! I placed 100g nutella, 1 banana and 600mls of milk into the bowl. Blitz on speed 7 for 45 seconds. Serve.
I'm currently working on a few different "mixes" for Christmas hampers, things people only need to add water or milk to to create a dessert, drink, cake, pudding, biscuit etc. This is one of them. Why buy store bought drinking chocolate powder etc when you can make it!? This is a drinking chocolate for cold milk. You can use this hot but I like my hot chocolates nice and creamy so I have another two recipes to show you for [...]
Well of course after making chocolates I couldn't waste the leftover melted chocolate left in the jug could I? Add 500mls milk. Cook at 60 degrees on speed 3 for 5 minutes. Delicious!!!! This is my fave by far! (You can melt about 50g white chocolate first. Add 25g crushed oreo biscuits and then follow the instructions)
I made some yummy "coconut rough" chocolates today as gifts and had a little chocolate left over in my bowl. Not wanting to waste it I turned it into a yummy hot chocolate. 500g of milk added to the bowl. Heated to 60 degrees, speed 4 for 3 minutes! Too easy!
This was a recipe I posted on my Facebook page back in December in the lead up to Christmas gift giving. I posted my Chocolate Milk Powder recipe for cold drinks. Here is my hot chocolate version. Rapadura and cocao works really well however you may need a little extra sugar as cocoa can be a little more bitter than cocoa powder. You can add more chocolate than cocoa if preferred. Adding mini marshmallows to it makes it great [...]
I recently attended a Varoma Cooking Class (add it to your "to do" list! They are great and we really dont use our steaming attachments enough) and tried a green smoothie for the first time. No it wasn't cooked in the Varoma however it was part of the menu and a great way to show how the tmx can juice and make smoothies. What is a green smoothie? The short answer? A drink full of lots of goodness [...]
Today the boys helped me make some juice for afternoon tea. Very very easy!!! We blitzed three peeled kiwi fruits on speed 5 for 20 secs. To that we added 800g of chopped watermelon. Blitz on speed 9 for 30 secs to chop up the seeds. This was a bit too "pulpy" for the boys so I ended up straining their serve through a nut bag for them. The rest was frozen into icy poles for another day.
I have lots of passionfruit and mango to use up so have been experimenting. I think Ive just mastered a homemade "crush" that tastes pretty similar to my favourite store bought version. Perfect for summer entertaining.
Just what we need after school! I'm not the hugest fan of these but my boys love these with a passion. A little added mint is a nice addition too for something a little different. The quantaties are approximate depending on how you like your consistency. If you want it a little sweeter add a tablespoon of fine rose sugar or similar to it for a sweet flavour hit along with the watermelon.
I recently bought a drink mix that tasted delicious but wasn't the most cost effective option and full of things I've never heard of before. Goodness me it was delicious though! I thought I'd create something similar. It doesn't taste exactly the same but is yummy and refreshing after a hot day. This has become an almost daily after school and lunchbox treat. A little vodka added to it wouldn't go astray too for the adults! This [...]
My boys love me this afternoon. After a long hot drive home from school this was just what we all needed along with some fruit salad! I'm starting to really love my thermomix! It's as simple as blitzing some ice on speed 9 until crushed finely. I scoop it into cups and top with a little made up lime cordial (we have ours very weak in strengh). I put enough liquid to make it easily sipped through a straw [...]
