Cheesy Pesto Scrolls

I LOVE scrolls. When I first starting blogging I posted a recipe for scrolls which is still one of the most popular recipes on the blog. People love a good scroll. Whilst they take a bit of time and patience they are so worth it. You won't buy from a bakery again!  For years we were very basic and repetitive with our scrolls. They were either cheese and vegemite or a pizza type scroll with tomato paste, herbs, capsicum, ham/bacon, pineapple and cheese (so delicious by the way).  Lately I have been loving pesto anything! These pesto and cheese scrolls do not disappoint.  If you haven't got time to make [...]

Caramelised Onion Dip

Join us I absolutely love dip! Nothing  beats a dip and cheese night with friends but Im struggling to find good store bought dips these days. I tend to make most of our dips with the help of the Thermomix. Making it yourself takes no time at all, often cheaper and you know exactly what is in it. Win, win, win. This is my Caramelised Onion Dip which is a delicious variation of my Bacon and Onion Dip. It a nice twist on traditional french onion dip that I know so many of us love. My other dip recipes: Bacon and Onion Dip Roasted Capsicum Dip Cheese and Bacon Cobb [...]

Bacon and Onion Dip

Join us If you love dip and bacon you are going to love this new recipe! This may possibly be your new favourite party dip. This will make over 500g of dip so it is perfect for large parties or get together. You can certainly halve the recipe however. The trick to this recipe is using a really smoky bacon to ensure there is plenty of flavour in this dip. We are so use to the strong intense flavour of bacon flavoured store bought items but this is artificial flavouring and hard to replicate. My other dip recipes you may like: Cheese and Bacon Cobb Loaf Dip Roasted Capsicum Dip [...]

Cheese and Bacon Cob Loaf Dip

This is one of my most asked for dishes when visiting people and bringing a plate to share. You can't go wrong cob loaf dip. This recipe was given to me about 8 years ago when cob loaf dips were all the rage (well they still are aren't they?!). The original recipe includes a small tin of corn and differs slightly to my adaption. The good thing about this recipe is you can change the flavours or increase/decrease the bacon and cheese and it will still be delicious. Wanting other savoury snack ideas to bring to a party? Cheese and Bacon Crackers  Cheesy Herb Crackers Olive Oil Crackers - The easiest [...]

Pizza Pastry Twists

These are so quick and easy to make for a last minute BBQ or party snack. I have used store bought pastry for these but you can certainly use a tmx puff pastry recipe. There is one in your EDC of Basic Cookbook. Vary the flavours you use in these to suit your tastes. Using leftover dips and a little cheese is a great way to use up leftovers and create a quick snack. Get creative! Try my roasted capsicum and tomato paste in these. Eat on their own or with dips. These are delicious with my roasted capsicum dip. Love this recipe? Subscribe to our daily recipe newsletter and [...]

Roasted Capsicum Dip and Spinach Flatbread Crackers

This is one of my favourite dips that I have been making for years. It was created by a friend and I many years ago when we needed a last minute dip for my sons birthday party but didn't have the ingredients for the usual herb and garlic or french onion type dips. If you wanted a spicy capsicum dip like the store bought style, you can add some fresh chilli to this and a pinch of cayenne pepper. These crackers are yummy and crunchy. They aren't very flavoursome on their own so they work perfectly with this dip. My other cracker recipes: Cheese and Bacon Crackers Cheesy Herb [...]

Rosemary Garlic Crackers

Earlier today I posted my Olive Oil Crackers. These are a variation on them - Rosemary Garlic Crackers! I love these because you only need a handful of ingredients that are commonly found in most kitchens. You can also produce a batch of these in under 30 minutes which I love. Oh and did I mention they are so much cheaper to make yourself than buy? These type of crackers are considered "gourmet" in the supermarket and cost a fortune for a small box. If you have 30 minutes, make your own. They are fun especially for the kiddies and its fun to watch them pop up during cooking! [...]

Olive Oil Crackers

Last night I had a demo of the new TM5. I love demos. Who doesn't love someone else cooking delicious food for them? No one makes dip or soup like my amazing consultant Peggy! I needed some crackers to go alongside the dip and created this Olive Oil Crackers recipe. I've made a few batches and they are so easy and delicious. I love these because you only need a handful of ingredients that are commonly found in most kitchens. You can also produce a batch of these in under 30 minutes which I love. Oh and did I mention they are so much cheaper to make yourself than [...]

4 Can Savoury Muffins

I realised the other day that I didn't have many savoury muffin recipes up on the blog. Better fix that! This is a really easy savoury muffin and you can adapt the flavour of it to suits your tastes. They are egg free so great for those with egg allergies. Because they are egg free the texture is slightly different to a normal muffin. You can certainly add two eggs to this recipe is you want more of a muffin crumb to these. I use and sell YIAH so I have used a Country Chive and Onion dip mix to flavour these muffins however the instructions give you quantities [...]

Cheese and Bacon Crackers

My Cheesy Herb Crackers are a massive hit here and are so easy and quick to make. These Cheese and Bacon Crackers are a tweak on these. The key to these is using a really smokey bacon for maximum bacon taste however standard bacon will work fine for these. You can purchase dried bacon bits from the supermarket however I find it more economical to use shortcut bacon and know exactly whats in it. Please note: these do taste different to store bought cheese and bacon style crackers. These have much less salt and uses real bacon rather than flavours etc. The dough can be frozen so you may [...]

Cheesey Popcorn

Who doesn't love cheesy popcorn? This brings back memories of childhood and fetes and shows. I experimented a bit with this trying to recreate the flavours from the past. This isn't exactly the same but its delicious nonetheless and the kiddies love it. Perfect after school snack or lunchbox addition. I even make it without the cheese and they still scoff it down so if you cant have cheese it is still yummy. If you don't have a tmx or similar, simply use grated parmesan or grate some yourself on a fine grater. Mix with other pieces and then sprinkle over popcorn and mix.     [...]

Cheesy Herb Crackers

Why not wow your friends with homemade crackers for your next get together instead of store bought? Oh my goodness these are absolutely delicious and if you love a cheesy cracker this is right up your alley! These remind me a lot of cheddar "Shapes". The flavour will depend on the cheese you use though of course. I make these regularly now since creating this recipe recently. I make a batch of dough but freeze half for later in the week. Simply thaw for forty five minutes to an hour and then roll, cut and bake. Very simple and a great snack for the lunchboxes or afternoon tea. [...]

Spreadable Cream Cheese with Chives and Onion

Why buy those expensive spreadable cream cheese tubs from the supermarket when you can easily make your own for half the price!   Great to serve on crackers, sandwiches, bagels etc. This is yummy stuffed into chicken breasts as well or an addition in to spinach and cheese rolls.    I looooove chives so use a whole bunch. Use less if you prefer.   This will last a week in the fridge.

Sour Cream and Chive Crackers

I love crackers far too much. If I ate crackers and dip for the rest of my life I wouldn't complain much. My 4 year old and I have been munching on these all day. They are nice on their own but would be even better with some dip or cheese.   I had been wanting to make these for sometime. All the recipes I found used almond flour. I didn't want to use that as I wanted to make these school friendly so I made this recipe up on the spot. You can use two cups of almond flour in place of the bakers flour if desired.   This [...]

Almond French Onion Dip

This is a healthier version of the sour cream French onion dip. I thought of this in the middle of the night whilst up with the baby and thought I was a genius! I googled and it turns out others had the same idea. I haven't seen one done in the tmx so thought I would post. It's a much different taste to the sour cream version. It tastes nice with crackers and carrot sticks.

Spinach and Feta Dip

This is one for feta lovers! This is so versatile. Serve as a dip with veggie sticks and crackers. Stuff chicken breasts with the mix. Stir through cold cooked pasta  for a quick pasta salad. Use in gozleme or pizzas. Add 4 beaten eggs and make spinach pie. You can add some ricotta to this as well for a flavour burst!

Cheese Ball

I love Cheese Balls for entertaining. They are something just a little bit different and so versatile.    The flavours can be changed to suit whatever you like. Some good combinations: Chives and garlic Garlic, rosemary, thyme Garlic, basil, parsley, oregano Spring onions Chilli Dried apricots Garlic and pepper  Gherkins Capers Pepper and lemon zest  Premade herb blends   Last night I created this one in a matter of minutes.    Place 250g firm cream cheese into tmx bowl. Add the flavourings of choice. I used a Your Inspiration At Home premade spice blend for my filling but use anything you like in yours. Blitz on speed 4 until only [...]
